last weekend we embarked on a grand adventure when we took an accidental 3 hour detour in hopes of bypassing Portland-metro-memorial-day-weekend traffic. By pass we did, and unknowingly hopped on to Oregon’s “Journey Through Time Scenic Byway”. Once our crew of 7 (packed into our 6 passenger van plus camping equipment) gave up our ideas of arriving at camp before sun down we all settled into a great adventure. Who wants to set up camp over seeing ghost towns of the old west? But the greatest part of the whole trip, besides the awesome company, was our unexpected find of the Shoe Tree! We were trucking along in the middle of nowhere Oregon at sunset and all the sudden we pass by this old rotten tree covered in shoes were all of it’s leaves should be. I yell “Did you guys see that!!” We flip a U-Turn on the highway and go back to check it out…. I’ll let you see for your own eyes, this this was amazing!

I didn’t take any pictures in the festival, I left my camera in the car and just enjoyed the experience, but it was truly an amazing time. I was blessed to be there and in the company of such fun friends. All of it was awesome!
