I posted at the beginning of the year that I was pretty sure I got to go to the best NYE party in LA, and going back over these images I still think so. When Amy first contacted me about photographing their New Years Eve wedding reception I was in from the moment she mentioned “Epic Dance Party” + “Natural History Museum”. I think it was a perfect fit. Amy and Clifford are some of the most creative, fun, funky, laid back people I’ve encountered in Los Angeles and the celebration of their love totally reflected that. They had a private ceremony the night before and then threw a huge party for all of their equally amazing family and friends. We met up at the swanky downtown Los Angeles Hotel Figuroa where Amy got ready (check out her sparkly gold custom made Pamela Barish gown!). Clifford met us there and I followed them through the streets of Downtown Los Angeles before hopping on the Metro to the Natural History Museum, where the party raged until we rang in 2013. Complete with hand made terrariums, amazing food by Fundamental LA, and crazy bride and groom figurines being eaten by dinosaurs… It was a party for the books.
Amy and Clifford – words can’t express how happy I am for you two. Thank you so much for letting me capture your epic celebration, and dance it out on the dance floor with you all. Cheers to many years of love and splendor, and an amazing 2013!
