My dear friend’s birthday is today. She is a very special woman, and one of the hardest workers I know. She also never lets anyone do anything for her (yeah, calling you out lady). So a couple days ago while babysitting her beautiful little man, I snuck in a few shots (with the unbelievable help of some friends) of him to print up for her as a birthday surprise. These are the 3 I chose to print and then our girl friends all pooled in and got some huge frames so she could put them on her walls. what a handsome little man! I love you girl…

The Cutest Family Ever

… at least in my opinion. But I’m slightly partial. Meet my big brother, his beautiful wife (and my close friend), and the cutest little boys to step (or be placed) in front of my camera. Can you tell I’m a proud aunt? I don’t try to hide it, I’m crazy in love with these guys. I’ve been waiting to post these family pictures till baby Max graced our presence. The first batch was taken in Oregon the day before Max’s due date, but he decided to take his time. He waited until I headed back down to Los Angeles, so I had to wait WEEKS before I could meet him and take his picture! But he was worth the wait. Oh and did I mention his name? Maxwell Havoc. His big brother’s name is Jack Danger, so it had to measure up! And next time I’m up there hopefully we’ll get some shots of all four of them together. I love you guys.

Say Hello… Messy Face and All

If you didn’t know, I have been flying back and forth between Los Angeles and Oregon all summer to shoot weddings in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I have the great pleasure of having a room waiting for me in the house I grew up in. My parents live on a beautiful property right outside of Corvallis, surrounded by farm fields and complete with 80+ backyard blueberry bushes to graze over. It is the perfect Yin to my busy Los Angeles Yang. I also attribute a lot of my sunny, free spirited photographic style to this special place. I flew in last Friday to shoot Lisa and Steve’s wedding at the Inn at Diamond Woods (Diamond Woods Golf Course, Monroe Oregon) and I’ll be here through August 4th shooting more weddings and portraits!

But on to today’s excitement! This afternoon I was having a picnic in the back yard with my absolute favorite nephew in the whole world, Mr. Jack Danger, when I noticed the UPS truck drive down our little street. I ran out front and sure enough, my new prime lens had arrived! Busy wedding filled summers, mean an excuse for me to continue bulking up with only the finest equipment out there to give my clients only the highest quality. I cut open the medium sized brown box to reveal the super awesome Canon 35mm 1.4L, meanwhile Jack had already moved on to bigger and better things… aka the trampoline. Here’s some of the first shots with this wide eyed beauty (the lens I mean, but the little guy too). Can’t wait to take it out on the field!

ps. Jack actually took the one of me! Pretty good for a 2 1/2 year old

The C Family [Corvallis Oregon Family Photography]

This was such a fun and beautiful family session with the C family. It’s one that has been waiting in the wing a bit to enter the blog, as we did it right before I left Oregon for the winter in California. I’ll just say, it may look beautiful and sunny but this day was COLD! Both the kids and adults were amazing sports through it, despite some red and runny noses I did love this family, they are such a beautiful family, and so fun to be around. Thanks guys!
