Sophie and her Little One

A few weeks ago I had the extreme pleasure of photographing Sophie for the second time this year – once for her headshots (she is an amazing dancer/instructor/choreographer here in LA) this time for her maternity portraits! Sophie is one of the most beautiful expecting mothers I’ve ever had the opportunity to photograph. She is someone who sparkles inside and out and she’s going to be such a great mom! I can’t wait to meet little Mr. Jumpy… Come soon little man!

Since I haven’t blogged for a second I thought I’d throw a little shout out to my beautiful people who have been keeping me busy AND give you all a sneak peak of what’s to come! Since my last post, I took a week off of shooting to recharge after the slammin wedding season and before my last wedding on 2011 (definitely ended on a high note!!). Then I photographed the beautiful miss Sophie and the little bean inside her belly (as shown below) and then almost immediately got in a car and drove to Arizona for a week to photograph Emma and Ely’s stunning wedding at the Tubac Golf Resort in Tubac Arizona. It was magical! Now I’m settling back into Los Angeles and prepping for the holiday’s which hold lots on movies, coconut milk eggnog (new obsession) and dinners with friends. Hope yours are splendid as well!

The Cutest Family Ever

… at least in my opinion. But I’m slightly partial. Meet my big brother, his beautiful wife (and my close friend), and the cutest little boys to step (or be placed) in front of my camera. Can you tell I’m a proud aunt? I don’t try to hide it, I’m crazy in love with these guys. I’ve been waiting to post these family pictures till baby Max graced our presence. The first batch was taken in Oregon the day before Max’s due date, but he decided to take his time. He waited until I headed back down to Los Angeles, so I had to wait WEEKS before I could meet him and take his picture! But he was worth the wait. Oh and did I mention his name? Maxwell Havoc. His big brother’s name is Jack Danger, so it had to measure up! And next time I’m up there hopefully we’ll get some shots of all four of them together. I love you guys.

The Slacks [Oregon Maternity Photography}

I just have to say, its shoots like this maternity session that remind me so vividly why I love my job. If I wasn’t a custom photographer, would I ever get to meet such cool people like the Slacks? I don’t know, but I’m sure glad I am. They are such an awesome couple, full of life and joy. I’m so happy for them as they are expecting Weston, their first baby, after 15 years of marriage! Molly’s aunt was so gracious letting us shoot out on her beautiful property outside of Philomath. And Molly was so cool about trekking back up to the house for changes while we rocked out to some super awesome Rock and Roll (Matt turned me on to Wide Spread Panic and now I’m hooked!). Even the weather cleared up for just the exact window we had scheduled to shoot, an hour later it was pouring buckets. Basically everything was perfect (incl. Molly’s belly… amazing). Weston was born last night, a little over a week early. And I’m so excited to fly in to Oregon next week meet him and take his first newborn portraits!

Jenn + Moses [Oregon Maternity Photography]

This session was truly an honor to shoot, as it is the beautiful belly of a woman I just think the world of. Jenn received this session as a Christmas gift. So not only was it a gift for me (the opportunity to document this special time for her) but it was a surprise gift for her too! Mo was born about 2 weeks after this shoot and is healthy and awesome and looks just like his dad. Unfortunately I jumped in a U-haul headed for Southern CA the day after this shoot, so I have yet to meet him. But I know he has been the perfect addition to this family, and I’m so anxious to know him!
