We had a wonderful week in Corvallis and just headed up north from there yesterday. We spent the night in Portland last night where I met up with a awesome group of creative (and otherwise) professionals and chatted over wine and cheese about the nature of networking and why we hate it. This evening we rolled into Centralia Washington to the McMinemin’s Olympic Club were my hubs is kicking off his pacific northwest mini tour.

I’m now sitting in our quaint little euro-style hotel room. This place totally makes me want to cozy by a fire and read classic literature in the provided thick terry bathrobe, and forget technology (and facebook) ever existed.

I have the next 2 days off from photo shoots and it feels wonderful. My plan is to cozy up as my man does his thang and share via the blog all the super cool people I’ve had the pleasure of photographing the last two weeks. I can’t wait.

Also if anyone out there is in the Centralia area, there will be a super awesome show going on from 7-8:30 if you want to come hang out and run the merch booth with me And for you Portlanders, we’ll be at Edgefield wed-fri nights while Casey rocks the Wine Cellar bar from 7-9 each night, so come hang out with us if you are around!

In the mean time I’ll share my fave from my last engagement shoot with Kattie and Josh… this is also my current desktop picture because it makes me so happy in this dreary NW weather

Casey’s CD release party will be @ Cloud9 on Saturday APRIL 9TH ….. not Saturday April 10th because there is no such thing this year. So for Oregon friends, mark your calendars for the 9th not the 10th…

In other news, I’m in the studio right now with Socks and Chimes as they are recording their first album. It’s so fun! And thanks for all the love that’s been shown for their video, it’s taking off and everyone’s loving it (yay!)

A couple days ago, my dearest friend from high school sent me a little email saying her engaged friend had been spotting my work on a number of “stylish” wedding blogs and sites. I had no idea, had never been contacted or credited by said blogs… Buuuuut it was super awesome to hear that people are finding inspiration from my work.

Casey also got an email from a beautiful musician from Chicago, IL saying she had covered one of his songs and included a video link of it. First, it was an honor to hear her story and how she was moved by the song, but more so we were speechless at the beauty that she infused into the performance! It’s chilling (I’m putting in at the bottom of the post).

Anyway, they’re just little things but it was just a nice reminder of how grateful we are that art is bigger than any one single person. It’s humbling… like art’s life motto is “have love, will travel” cause it will, and it does.

oh and to my treasured Oregonians, I’ll see you in a few days!
