My goal as a photographer is to highlight your unique personal style while capturing images that evoke emotion. I have a fine art photojournalism style and aim to put you at ease while having fun at the same time. To me, life is a grand story unfolding and I get to tell my part of it through images.
I specialize in senior potraits, actor and buisness headshots, bridal, and engagement photos. I shoot weddings all over Oregon and California including Los Angeles, Orange County, San Fransisco, Portland, Salem, Eugene, Canon Beach, and Hood river, to name a few. I travel regularly for bookings up and down the west coast and am available for destination weddings.
I would love to meet with you and take part in
the telling of your story.
I had such a wonderful time with Arwen and Peter and their amazing family and friends. The wedding was a beautiful celebration of life and love, and their heartwarming story together. They are some of the kindest, most laid back, and fun loving people I’ve worked with and it was such a joy to capture their *1st* special day together. I say first because their legal matrimony is being held in Australia, where Peter is from and where they will be starting their lives together. This stateside celebration was all about the coming together of family and friends to send them out. In fact, Arwen and Peter even chose to have their guests marry them during the ceremony! Everyone had copies of the vows and read them over the couple as a group. Many happy and sad tears were shed and much laughter and dancing followed. The evening was beautiful in every way. I’m so excited for both of them and the adventure ahead of them, but Corvallis is definitely going to miss such a wonderful woman!
A major thank you to Peggy and Carol at Celebration Florals who created some AMAZING bouquets for the bridal party!
Also, for all you brides out there, Beazell Memorial Forest was an amazing little destination for a beautiful celebration… Check it out at Beazell Memorial Forest Website
If you didn’t know, I have been flying back and forth between Los Angeles and Oregon all summer to shoot weddings in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I have the great pleasure of having a room waiting for me in the house I grew up in. My parents live on a beautiful property right outside of Corvallis, surrounded by farm fields and complete with 80+ backyard blueberry bushes to graze over. It is the perfect Yin to my busy Los Angeles Yang. I also attribute a lot of my sunny, free spirited photographic style to this special place. I flew in last Friday to shoot Lisa and Steve’s wedding at the Inn at Diamond Woods (Diamond Woods Golf Course, Monroe Oregon) and I’ll be here through August 4th shooting more weddings and portraits!
But on to today’s excitement! This afternoon I was having a picnic in the back yard with my absolute favorite nephew in the whole world, Mr. Jack Danger, when I noticed the UPS truck drive down our little street. I ran out front and sure enough, my new prime lens had arrived! Busy wedding filled summers, mean an excuse for me to continue bulking up with only the finest equipment out there to give my clients only the highest quality. I cut open the medium sized brown box to reveal the super awesome Canon 35mm 1.4L, meanwhile Jack had already moved on to bigger and better things… aka the trampoline. Here’s some of the first shots with this wide eyed beauty (the lens I mean, but the little guy too). Can’t wait to take it out on the field!
ps. Jack actually took the one of me! Pretty good for a 2 1/2 year old
pss. This first one is Jack landing a belly flop, also pretty good for a 2 1/2 year old?
Josh and Julia are two very busy love birds. After a few attempts, we finally got an engagement shoot to fit into their hectic schedules. I’m so glad too, because they are awesome and I finally got to meet them in person! These two are so funny, and laugh A LOT, which in turn made me laugh a lot, and a great time was had by all. Well except, when Josh’s Cheesy tactics didn’t pay of so well… (see clip at the end, I promised Josh it would make it on the blog!) Anyway, these two are beautiful, and I’m so happy for them. Also, I can’t WAIT to photograph their wedding at Beazell Memorial Forest in August!
A couple weeks ago I had the opportunity to shoot a promotional video for my husband’s music. I love him so very much and am so proud of all that he is doing. It was really fun and ultra rewarding, except now it has me wanting more toys (an external mic would have been helpful)! Let me know what you guys think!
Shot entirely with my Canon 5d Mk2 camera body and the Canon 85 1.2L Mk2 lens

July 2, 2010 - 6:34 pmJessica - Lauren, you have a beautiful ability to capture detail and bend it in wonderful ways. Thank you for letting God use you to create beauty. I can't tell you how many times I have looked at your work and it points at His love for us and His desire for us to be fulfilled. In this case, through art.
